Brush It Out With Michel Mercier
We put so much focus on the products we use on our hair; the shampoo, the conditioner, the masks, the oils, the sprays, etc. Each one specially formulated for a certain type and style of hair. But what about the type of hair brush we use? Shouldn’t they be customized for your hair type too?!
Let me start by staying I am SUPER picky when it comes to hair brushes. I have long, thick hair that has a tendency to tangle easy. I often dread washing my hair because the task of brushing it afterwards is often long and painful and to be honest, can be quite tiring too (like my arms and shoulders start to cramp up). Crazy, I know! I regularly joke with my husband that if we were ever ridiculously wealthy, the first thing I would do is hire someone to wash and brush my hair every day.
Michel Mercier brushes have been a total game changer for me! They offer brushes for three different types of hair; fine, normal and thick. They are designed to remove knots and tangles from both wet and dry hair without pulling or tugging and really help to reduce breakage… HALLELUJAH!
Each brush has 428 bristles with 32 different heights and 16 different widths to apply the correct pressure to your hair. The bristles are also rounded to help massage the scalp and stimulate blood circulation. And if you didn’t know, this is a GREAT way to promote hair health and growth.
I personally have three brushes from the line. The Classic, Spa and Blow Dry brushes.
The Classic Brush is my most used. It can be used on wet or dry hair and is a great everyday brush. I use this at night on my wet hair after washing and in the morning on my dry hair. It helps keep my hair manageable, removes tangles without any pain and just feels amazing on my scalp. I also use this on Mia, at 3 she has such long hair and gets some of the worst tangles ever. This brush has been a life saver (or in this case a tear-saver) for her!
The Spa Brush is kept in my shower at all times. It has a special anti-slip handle and you can use it to apply shampoo and conditioner. However, my favorite way to use it is to apply a good hair mask. It distributes the product evenly throughout my hair while simultaneously giving me the most amazing scalp massage.
Last but not least is the Blow Dry Brush. There’s nothing better than a great blowout and this brush will give you just that. The design of the bristles helps hair to dry quicker (amen), remove tangles and knots and has a wood handle to remove static.
Besides loving the brushes, I also love the price point. They retail for between $14.95 and $24.95 and are super durable so you don’t have to worry about replacing them anytime soon. You can shop the entire line of brushes at Walmart as well as Amazon.com/michelmercier and at MichelmercierBrush.com
